Demolition
This part, or so we thought, was going to be easy. There was really only one big step: remove the existing interior parts of the school bus. Thats it we thought. Simple enough. Ha! There were seats to be removed, metal wall panels, metal ceiling panels, rubber flooring that had to go, and one of the worst parts, the old insulation. Itβs a family type of adventure and Jet LOVES working with tools so naturally he volunteered his expertise in hammering! We chopped the seats off at the legs with the sawzall to access the leg bolts easier. One of the most taxing parts to remove was the ceiling. Large sheets of metal were riveted into the the ribs of the bus. It was slow going with the angle grinder until we got our hands on an air compressor and an air hammer. We were able to remove the entire ceiling in about an hour once we had to the right tools! We took all of the recycle-able material to our local recycling center and it was totally worth it!
Other busses might be different bus for us to be able to remove the wall panels we had to remove the emergency window hatches of which there were 4 on each side.
